My approach
As a clinical psychologist I aim to provide effective psychological assessments and therapy for a variety of cognitive, emotional, and behavioural difficulties. I have experience providing a number of evidence-based psychological therapy approaches including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Applied Behavioural Management, and neuropsychological rehabilitation. My approach is one of collaboration and guidance so that you can become aware of what is maintaining your difficulties. Once this is understood I can help you to learn specific techniques to manage your difficulties and take steps towards the activities and relationships in life that are important to you.
My qualifications and experience
I have a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Massey University (New Zealand). I have been practicing in the UK for over five years. I am a chartered member of the British Psychological Society (BPS) and am registered with the Health and Care Professions Council.
My philosophy
We all experience challenges throughout the various stages of our lives. How we choose to approach these difficulties will determine how meaningful and rewarding our lives become.
Psychological therapy can help us to understand why we sometimes struggle to overcome certain challenges. By working together I can support you to learn new skills to manage these difficulties as they arise. This will enable you to take action and focus on what is most important to you. I aim to be as flexible as possible in meeting my client’s therapeutic needs.
